Pack only the money you expect to use on alcohol, tipping and few dollars you expect to throw away and leave the rest behind.
Contemptuous? Not by any means. Just realistic. You may well have a win after a boozy night out with your compatriots and be lucky sufficiently to catch a marathon roll at a hot craps table. Hang on to that account because it is as brief as it gets if you regularly drink and gamble. These activities simply do not mix.
Keeping your money back at the hotel is a little excessive, but defensive measures for excessive actions is necessary. If you wager to succeed, then do not consume alcohol and bet.
